Nearly a decade ago, my mother was critically ill in the hospital for four months. One evening after a particularly difficult day, exhausted and overwhelmed, I stopped at a Lush store on my way home. Immediately I was greeted with beautiful scents and comforting textures. I went home with a bag full of bath products.

That night, I made my cup of tea and drew a warm bath, dropped in a bath bomb and ran a bubble bar, aptly named The Comforter. I sat in that tub and sobbed until my ribs ached. When I had no more tears, I sat there mesmerized by the swirls of gold and blue water and the scent enveloped me like a warm hug. I felt comforted and at peace. I had the best sleep that night and the next morning I awoke refreshed and ready for the next challenge.

In that moment, I understood the power of scent and the importance of small rituals. I realized how deeply fragrance and quiet moments can help us reset when life feels heavy.
